*Holofernes is an ode (in my head) to an amazing painting by the most talented female painter you've never heard of, Artemisia Gentileschi. She was an Italian baroque painter from the late 1500's who depicted Judith and the beheading of King Holofernes in a biblical story among many others. Her paintings are heavily influenced by one of my faves, Caravaggio. This is such a great homage to that without even probably meaning to..pulling together ideas from ancient Rome / Greece, vintage Versace, Caravaggio..I just love this ;)
